1: Avelino Hernandez y Luis Dela Cruz: represents the Province of Isabela in the Philippines
2: Abit paranoid at times. Rather hard-working, determined, anti-sexism, may have huge grudges. Due to his history, he is a devouted Catholic. (But he thinks FILIPINO/INDIO priests and friars are alot niceer than the Spanish ones he had back in the day.) Majorly offendd if you use his province name as an insult. Isn't the type of person who would change his status quo and can be very stubborn at times. If you abuse his freedom, he'll revolt, but give him a decent jo and treat him properly and he'll consider you family. Abit of a tsundere. (Since h's poor, I guess I can make him a working student in the University?)
3: What are their relationships with other countries?
Allies: A majority of the world are his country's allies (That would be a LONG list, seeing how many Overseas Filipino Workers are out there), but most of his enemies are more like grudges. A few to mention are Spain (yes, he hates his father) Japan (WWII in Asia.....not pretty...) certain MidEastern countries (particularly those abuses OFWs) and, maybe, the Communists (Talking about the NPA)
4a: Originally founded as a missionary town, Avelino had spent most of his childhood making rebellions against his father, Spain, with his older Ilocano brethren. For 300 years or more, the Spaniards had taken control of the country, had converted most of it to Christianity, and have widely affected the Filipino culture. Unfortunately, like most Spanish colonies, they had used their power in abusive ways, even to the point that most became SO arrogant while ruling that they considered the Filipinos LOWER THAN DIRT. And, although Isabela was very dedicated to the church he served, his hatred for the mainland of Espana and her governadores and guardias civiles made him despise the word "Spanish" for a long time.
(There WAS this particular period where England or Germany took over, but he had vague memories of that time.)
When they finally got their independence, he thought they were triumphant. But as soon as the Spaniards had left, a new enemy (well, at that time they were) had arrived: The Americans. After a controversial shooting of an innocent non-English speaking Filipino over a bridge by two American soldiers, he and several of his brothers and sisters fought earnestly. In the end, tthe Americans won, though. But there were so many things that they introduced to Avelino and his siblings (one of them education and industrialization) that from enemies, they became the est of allies. (At present, as well.) It took some time for the province to get used to this new advancements, but he was able to manage in later years. (He didn't have proper electricity till the mid-1980s though. Couldn't even afford proper shoes until he started working abraod from time to time.)
As for WWII, when the Americans were forced out for a short time by tehe Imperial Japanese Empire, things weren't very pretty. He had less rights, freedom and money in less than 5 years than he had in 300 years of Spanish rule. And dare he say what happened, he would forever sneer at Japan. (But at present, he's TRYING to forget his grudge...unsuccessfully.) While then until MacArthur came back, he joined some guerillas who supported communism and rebelled against the soldiers of that country. (Mostly the provinces, but he disliked the idea of communism as much as the idea of sleeping with a man.)
After the war, he actually got over it pretty quickly, despite him being a province of agriculture, but things weren't smooth for him all time. The EDSA (or Bloodless, they say) Revolution against an Ilocano president (you have no idea how ashamed he was for this) back in the 70s, countless typhoons and dry seasons heavily affecthing his crops and his people, getting flooded and nearly drowned several times, econimoc challenges, and hardships in some of the countries he had worked in had caused him to be abit cranky. But, for the sake of his family, he tries to control those endencies when he was about to errupt.
(Copy and paste cause I'm multi-tasking OTL)
4b:5"7, has a slightly nice built due to farming jobs. Short black hair slashed to the left with the left bangs in a swish style. He has brown skin, brown eyes and looks slightly mestizo (or half-Spaniard half native) On normal days, he'd wear a Barong Tagalog and red knee-lenght pants with a pair of black sandals. In the University (he's kind of poor, so I'll be beting he'd get in Tesla) he tries to do his best in maintaining his uniform. (Except he wears sandals, not shoes. He's too poor for those.)
4c: He's 19 years old and is a freshman. (Would have been a soph but he's starting late.)
5: Oh COME on! Haven't you read my previous apps to see how hypoctritic I can be?!
6: So you’re new here! How do you find your way around the campus, do you ask someone for directions or try to figure it out yourself?
*looks around* I don't thnk I know to many people...Wait, why are the others wearing red and gold? *lost*
7: You have several projects due! Do you get started working on them right away?
I'll start them right away! *deterimined look then looks at his project base form* Wait....it says I need to use a computer.....great....OTL *only borrows from his city-born siblings*
8: Some girl/guy’s trying to hit on you! How do you react?
Ummm....I'm sorry, Miss. I'm going to become a priest...or.....GTFAway from me, you faggy bastard! *chases with his bolo*
9: Uh oh! You accidentally broke a very prized trophy that the school had won! What do you do?!
Umm....I don't wanna lie....but I can't tell them what did so....*whistles and continues to walk to his dorm....a very FAST walk*
10: You see a student with a broken leg?! What do you do?
To a normal student: Susmariyosep! Hold on, pal! I'll get you to the clinic! *carries the person half-way*
To someone either Spanish or Japanese: *ignores*
11: A fight breaks out in the quad! How do you react?
Guys! That's enough! You're not accomplishing anything with this and---*gets punched in the eye as he breaks them apart*......*dark face* Alright. *has their shirts in his fists* WHICH ONE OF YOU BASTARDS DID THAT?
12: It’s PE time! Are you good with sports and athletics?
I'm good with running, some lifting and basics.....That count? *is excited to play basketball and volleyball*
13: A big test is coming up! Do you prepare or do you sack studying?
*after some time now* This is kind of hard.....Oh wait. NOW I get it! *continues to study*
14: Someone is stalking you in the hallways! Who is it, and how do you react?
*turns around and stomps to the place where his stalker is hiding and drags them to the open* Alrght, kid. Why are you following me around like a coyote to a road runner? *threatens with his ruler*
15: What do you want to major and why?
Maybe Agriculture. I mean, people don't take it seriously, but it's the FARMERS who give you that corn/brea wheat/rice/tomatoes/meat you eat, right? Or maybe be an expert of the covent. This world needs more people close to God.
16: Any questions?
Please please PLEASE let my roomie be STRAIGHT! /SOBS
